For the love of Craft kombucha – Our Story from Kitchen to Factory

For the love of Craft kombucha – Our Story from Kitchen to Factory

If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, again. Good job we listened to that one!  Everything begins somewhere – and that ‘somewhere’ for Holos was in a kitchen in West London.

When we started brewing kombucha, with £100 worth of equipment and ingredients including a LOT of turmeric, there was a sense of adventure and mission. We became obsessed with making delicious kombucha with the most unique, creative flavour pairings.  We invited a bunch of friends and family to rate us and tell us what they liked (and more often than not, didn’t(!)).  We spent many a FREEZING weekend at markets, testing our products on unsuspecting locals. Our best, and funniest feedback to date was the advice that we should sell our initial efforts as a salad dressing!

Luckily, we kept on trying – and here we are, over a million bottles and several Great Taste Award stars later…and with our own Holos Kombucha microbrewery in West Sussex.

But the point is – it’s about giving something a go – and the beauty of ‘craft’ is that you can always improve, evolve, challenge yourself and make it FUN!  That’s why we’ll always remain a craft kombucha brewer – and constantly seek to refine and enhance the bottles we sell to you, tasting every batch and brewing with all-natural, organic ingredients.

So, if you haven’t tried to brew your own kombucha yet – why not? Our Holos Home Brew Kits make the perfect gift to yourself or others!  If you don’t fancy the commitment of a pet, get yourself a Brew Kit scoby and make it a personal challenge or creative family activity to brew delicious kombucha that tastes better than a salad dressing! And why not send us some once you have, we’d love to try it!

And don’t forget, our Brew Kits are hand-packed and help create jobs for survivors of exploitation and trauma – so you can know you are making an ethical gift choice for yourself and others.

Go on… give it a go!

Love Naomi (Holos Co-Founder)
