Hope Blooms- Reflections from a Holos placement participant

Hope Blooms- Reflections from a Holos placement participant

With spring in motion (come on, weather!), it feels like the perfect moment to share a written piece from one of our most recent Holos placement participants.

Stories like this are full of beauty and promise. They remind us of the dedication and determination we see in each individual, and the joy of cheering them on as they try new things, TRIUMPH, and take steps forward!

Our dream at Holos, over ten years ago now, was to use employment as a doorway into further healing, and that dream is growing! There’s always more to be done and bigger dreams to dream, but we want to say a big thank you to our subscribers, customers, fellow kombucha lovers, fans, family, and stockists for being part of the growth…their growth!

Hope Blooms

Hope is flourishing after being given safety and support. It feels like a fresh start, especially after a heap of trauma. After so many years of being failed, I now feel that I’m not being failed by the charities that surround me.

Hope means recognising my own humanity and knowing that I can be a new creation and fulfill my dreams.

I once wanted a quiet life, almost denying my past. Now, I want a full life where I can acknowledge what I've been through without being negatively impacted, and use that experience for good.

I feel different now. I feel peace, a sense of belonging, and a belief in a future where my heart’s desires can be fulfilled. My relationships have changed, too. I can be on my own and find belonging in the right places and with the right people, and I'm gaining a clearer sense of who I am and what I want.

I’m hopeful for the next stage of my journey, especially regarding housing. I feel positive and excited, rather than defeated. I feel blessed with grace and time. I've started volunteering and helping others, and I love that environment of giving. I want to be a support for other women, explore my creativity and I'm also wanting to start my own organisation. It's exciting and nourishing, and I'm learning to trust my dreams.

Being part of the Holos Placement programme has shown me that I’m not lazy, that I’m capable of hard work, and it’s given me purpose and fulfilment. There has been so much darkness and ugliness, and now I’m finding beauty and also realising that it’s okay to want that!

Remember, don’t give up, you can fly.
