FAQs

Does it contain sugar?

In the short answer is yes; a very small amount.

The fermentation that kombucha undergoes requires sugar to ‘feed’ the SCOBY (and keep feeding it). The raw organic, all-natural cane sugar we use is mostly eaten up during the fermentation process, leaving around 3.1 grams of sugar per 100ml on average. Popular energy drinks in the UK contain around 11g of sugar per 100ml.

Remember, this drink is alive! Store chilled at all times.

Does it contain alcohol?

The short answer? "Trace alcohol".

As with all fermented products, a small amount of alcohol is produced as a by-product of the fermentation process. We would advise pregnant women and those with healthcare concerns to consult their GP about whether they can drink kombucha.

Our vigorous process requires us to check our ABV levels reguarly but remember this is raw, living, unpasteurised kombucha that needs to be stored in the fridge to ensure the product is kept at optimal condition.

Store chilled at all times.

Does it contain caffeine?

Yes, but this product is low in caffeine.

That means that it certainly is a lot lower than the average cup of tea or coffee.

Different kombucha brands and different kombucha ranges will all be made differently. We use a unique blend of 4 different teas, 3 of which contain caffeine: Green tea (Sencha), Early Grey Tea and Yerba Mate. We also use Rooibos which is caffeine-free. During the fermentation process, about ⅓ of the caffeine remains.
